Back in 2016 when I was desperately looking for ways to move away from what the "gurus" sold us as "freedom" -- the daily 5-7-hour Skype-lesson marathons, working with 1 client after another, not able to take a bathroom break, much less to eat -- I wrote a newsletter to my email list with an announcement of a paid webinar.
Creating that offer was something out of the world for me. I kept thinking, "who would pay for a webinar when everyone else is doing it for free?" I wondered if I was "expert enough." In the end I did it and I set the price at $20. I was sure nobody would buy, but about 30 people signed up for the event and for the program afterwards, and within 10 days I made $1,010.
Now mind you I'd never made money so easily. Just a couple of years prior to that email $1,000 would mean 40 Skype lessons and about 20 hours of prep work. And here I was -- sending 1 email, offering 1 event, creating an offer to follow that event and voila -- $1,010. I was shocked. And I was ready to yell about this from the rooftops.
